Yesterday Movie Review : A Musical walk down Memory Lane.

Read Time:1 Minute, 21 Second

There have been really good musicals before this, speak of the likes of Lalaland and A Star is Born though fictional, a little but still portraying a much satisfactory and savory taste of a musical and even though Paul McCartney admitted he ‘liked’ it. Well who am i to disagree?.

Directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Sunshine) The Classic musical themed spin-off shows us what a world without the Beatles would be like, after surviving a biking accident, failing musician Jack Malik (Himesh Patel) realizes he has fallen into some kind of time warp where the greatest names in music are not known by people, except him. He then sets out to rewrite their songs. This creates a shock-wave as seen in the movie and major appearances are made. Counting Ed Sheeran for one.

Leaving his hometown sweetheart, Ellie (Lily James) who happens to be secretly in love with him, Jack sets out, answering the call of fame and massive success at the behest of his knowledge that his songs are not original and a pretty sour hearted lover trailing his mind.

A Quite Exceptional Musical

No mention of his fickle side kick, the movie was released on the 28th of June 2019. In a world where the greatest songs are missing, one with these gifts is not meant to hold them back i agree. Yesterday is a light hearted movie topped off by Ed Sheeran’s memorable appearance, he and Jack even had a mini duel. check it out here but ensure you see this movie.
