The Resident Review : Ripped off Grey’s Anatomy’s Handbook.

September 18, 2020 By derrick

Produced by Fox and aired on the 21st of January 2018, The Resident is a medical themes TV drama series. What is endearing about the series despite it’s harsh incline to patient finances is it’s much lovable characters starring a brilliant resident Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry) . A little similar to Greys Anatomy if you ask me. The Resident none the less is a hearty medical drama not minding the bloody gore of bloody intestines but hey, it’s a medical series.

We are teased with the aesthetics of romance which we can’t seem to place our fingers on and a sharp portrayal of the medical financial system, apart from it’s pretty awesome characters and maybe humor. The Resident could very well pass for a legal or business series and also the corruption of the health care system is also shown as Conrad’s feud with his ever corrupt boss played by Bruce Greenwood this in return is met with seeming slander against Conrad’s rogue medical methods by his boss.

Though starting from the view of a new resident (Devon) assigned to a third year, The series begins to show us it’s mainly about the lives of two medical personnel’s, or rather our attention is pivoted towards them, no sooner or later we forget the whole drama and just start watching them.

The Resident is smart, a little rough and shows the ever present pressures of medicine.
